Fife

The quiet giant. · 3 distilleries

Fife is the strangest entry on this list, because it contains both ends of the trade at once. Cameronbridge, near Windygates, is where Gordon’s and Tanqueray are distilled, on two of the biggest gin stills in the world, at something like three million bottles a week. Twenty miles east, small producers work out of a farm steading and a golf town. Both are Fife gin.

Tanqueray is made nowhere else. It is an industrial plant, not a visitor attraction — but the two best-selling gins on earth are Fife gins.
