Named after a First World War field gun, on the basis that it hits with much the same force. Gin, lemon, sugar and something sparkling.
You need
Serves one
- 30ml gin
- 15ml fresh lemon juice
- 10ml sugar syrup
- Chilled sparkling wine to top
Method
- Shake the gin, lemon and sugar hard with ice.
- Strain into a chilled flute.
- Top with sparkling wine.
- Garnish with a long lemon twist.
Our suggestion: this is the drink for a floral or citrus-led gin. A heavily foraged, resinous gin fights the wine.
