  • Island distilled
  • On the coast
  • Foraged botanicals

  • Open to visitors

Built at Tarbert as a social enterprise — the point of it was jobs on Harris as much as spirit. The gin uses sugar kelp hand-cut by a local diver from the sea lochs around the island.

What they make

Isle of Harris Gin Isle of Harris Distillery

Sugar kelp, hand-harvested from the waters off the island.

Where to buy it. We don’t sell gin and we take no commission, so the honest answer is to buy from the distillery. www.harrisdistillery.com is their own site. Good independent bottle shops will stock it too.

Facts on this page were compiled on 17 September 2026 from public sources. Distilleries change hands, move and close. If something here is wrong — especially if it’s your distillery — tell us and we’ll fix it.
